What is The Recycling and Rubbish Exhibit?
The Recycling And Rubbish Exhibit (R.A.R.E.) provides FREE educational tours and workshops to Butte County residents of all ages. Our two-part program encourages recycling, composting and re-thinking our trash production by focusing on the 4 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot).
Visit the Exhibit!
We have over twenty hands-on interactive displays covering topics such as:
- Anatomy of a landfill
- Composting with worms
- Electronic and hazardous waste
- Recycling around the world
- A six foot tall garbage can
- A walk-through compost pile and much more!
In-Class Workshops:
Follow up compost workshops allow students to learn the importance of composting and how to build and maintain a worm bin to keep in the classroom. Compost workshops are hands-on and provide students with an outlet to practice what they learn at the Exhibit!Check out R.A.R.E. in the Chico News and Review: Click here
