As an AS employee how can I sign up for direct deposit of paychecks?
You can go to either the HR (BMU 202) or Business office (BMU 219) to pick up a form for direct deposit.
Can I get out of my rental agreement if the landlord does not get rid of the pest problem?

Is there a Korean student association?
I could not find one listed under student organizations, but you can get help starting one by contacting the Student Activities office at 898-5396.

Is there a list for ride sharing? I live in Orland and will be driving in everyday. Is there a board I can put my contact info on for someone who would like to share gas expenses?
Yes, there is a ride sharing board. Come to the Information Center in the BMU to fill out a card for the board.
What are the 4 ATMs located on campus?
Golden One, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Tri-Counties Bank.
Do you have a tutor program for elementary age children?
Yes, contact CAVE at 530-898-5817 for more information.
What kind of food is served at the dorms?
Here's a sample of what they serving this week; however, the new Sutter Hall Dining facility will open this fall and, with it, I would expect changes in the menus. Also, this menu does not show all of the "grab and go" food available at the dorm.
What is the cost of a meal plan for fall semester?

What do I do to transfer?
Contact the counseling office at your current school as they should be able to tell if you have enough units to transfer and help you with the process. Your next step would be applying to Chico State here.

Hi, I am helping a female student who is coming from China in August to attend graduate school, to find accommodations. We see some 2 or 3 bedroom apartments, but do not know how to find roommates. Any suggestion?
Yes, you can post a "roommate wanted" card in the BMU and at the housing office. You might also contact one of the international advisors to learn how other students have solved this problem - they can be reached at 530-898-5408 or 530-898-5721.

You can contact the Commencement Office (898-6472) for a copy of the last commencement program; however, not all of the students who "walked" actually graduated.
Who are the directors at CAVE?
Mary Flynn is the director of CAVE. Ann Schwab, Carla Shields and Elisa Trimboli all provide support for CAVE's many programs.

Are red cups recyclable?
Technically they are recyclable but they typically do not get recycled. The resources that must go into recycling this type of material (molded plastic) outweighs the resources saved by recycling it. Try to buy reusable cups!

Several unsettling events this spring have created concern and now action. The attack on Joe, because he is so well known on campus, may have been the proverbial "last straw" that prompted the rally. Just a guess on my part.

How much does it cost to rent out the BMU Auditorium for an event?
The cost varies according to who wants to use the facility (students, whose fees support the AS are free or greatly reduced compared to the cost for a private party); contact Conference Services at 898-6414 for more information.
What do Butte College students do for campus housing at Chico?
There are a number of private housing options but the Chico State campus dorms are not available to Butte students. The Chico News and Review publishes a Housing Guide each year. I couldn't find it online but you might contact the paper for a copy.

What are the pros and cons of living in the UV?
It provides a dorm-like setting but preserves your independence - still have activities planned and can meet lots of people but not as restrictive as dorms. UV is a mile from campus which makes using the meal plan a bit more challenging.
How do I get a job at the WREC?
The WREC is operated by the AS; WREC jobs would be posted on the AS Human Resources webpage under Student Employment (see below).

Do you think the Clinique store in the BMU is a waste of funds and space?
No, the Bookstore is faced with replacing revenue lost from declining textbook sales. The Clinique counter is just one part of that effort.
What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Cultural references to the chicken and egg intend to point out the futility of identifying the first case of a circular cause and consequence. It could be considered that in this approach lies the most fundamental nature of the question. A literal answer is somewhat obvious, as opposed to the logical fallacy of the metaphorical view, which sets a metaphysical ground on the dilemma. So, to understand its metaphorical meaning better, it could be reformulated as follows: "Which came first, X that can't come without Y, or Y that can't come without X?"
