A.S. Sustainable Events Policy

The Sustainable Events Policy aims to encourage all Associated Students (AS) Activity Fee event funding councils to incorporate and follow a sustainable event funding guideline when making a decision to fund an event.  The policy would require students to incorporate environmental, social and holistic economics into the event planning and decision making processes.  This policy aims to further solidify the AS and CSU, Chico's strong advocacy and leadership in sustainability.

Sustainability is outlined in both the AS' strategic plan as well as CSU, Chico's strategic priorities, the sixth.  Both entities believe that each generation owes something to those which follow, and aim to create environmentally literate citizens, who embrace sustainability as a way of living. They both believe in creating wise stewards of scarce resources who are aware that our individual and collective actions have economic, social, and environmental consequences locally, regionally, and globally.
