Cate Kaylor, Teacher - Modoc Room

I graduated from Chico State in 2006 with a B.A. degree in Child Development and a minor is Psychology. I worked in the Purple and Modoc rooms as student staff and volunteered in the Infant room. Since leaving the university, I have worked at a head start program, taught swim lessons and outdoor skills to at-risk youth in southwest Colorado. I also worked for 2 1/2 years in early intervention as well as behavior modification for children on the Autism spectrum. After acquiring my EMT-Basic certification, I became interested in public safety and attended Butte Fire Academy, and additionally worked two seasons for Cal-Fire, where I learned valuable life lessons and I was also able to nourish my love of working in the outdoors. I am excited to be back where I gained my college education to further my knowledge of working with children, families, and students. I cannot think of a better place to work that is as equally as challenging as it is rewarding and I look forward to the new adventures that the years have to offer.
