Evening Stand Up Paddling

Join us at the forefront of water sport innovation with stand up paddling (SUP)! This trip is a great way to unwind after a busy day as we enjoy the beauty of the river and wildlife. Beginners are welcome! Come experience this new sport and explore the Sacramento River with AO.
Cost:  $35

Feather Falls Day Hike
Date:  June 20
Available to Students and Guests

Take the day to hike with us to the sixth highest waterfall in the US which happens to be right in our backyard. This is a must see for anyone who is going to spend time in Chico. In the summer, it gushes 640 feet down to the canyon and into the Feather River below. With spectacular scenery along the way, this is one of the most popular hikes in the area and a sight you don't want to miss! The round-trip hike is approximately nine miles; while not an extremely difficult hike, you must be prepared for a full day of hiking.

Iron Canyon Float Trip
Date:  July 10
Available to Students and Guests

Experience the serenity of the mighty Sacramento River from comfort of an inflatable kayak. The river's cool water is a refreshing contrast to the summer heat, and the scenic landscapes along the shore make for great picnic and swimming stops along the way. Iron Canyon is a Class I/II section of river that is great for anyone who wants to get out and explore new areas.

Bidwell Park Hike/Swim
Date:  July 18
Available to Students and Guests

Discover the awesome swimming holes of Upper Bidwell Park right here in Chico!  Starting at Horseshoe Lake, we will hike Yahi Trail along Big Chico Creek, taking in the scenic beauty of the oak trees and ancient basalt lava flows while enjoying the many swimming holes along the trail. Experience the wilderness right here in our backyard and cool off with a splash!

Multi-Day Trips*


Trinity River Raft & Caving Combo
Dates: June 15-17
Available for Students Only

Refresh your senses with the crystal clear water of the Trinity River, a true Nor-Cal gem! Snow melt makes the river run fast which adds to the excitement of rapids such as Z-Drop, The Slot, Pinball, and Hell Hole. We'll also have a day to explore limestone caves with underground pools, stalactites and stalagmites. This trip will introduce you some of the most exciting activities Northern California has to offer.
Cost:  $160 (includes food and equipment)



Chico Bound Refund Policy:

*You must provide 10 days notice in order to receive a refund for your Chico Bound trip. Please note that while refunds are possible, a processing fee may apply. No refunds will be given for cancellations less than 10 days before the trip begins. In the event that a Chico Bound trip must be canceled due to adverse weather or low enrollment, a refund will be issued.
